What is hair loss?

At Cheshire MediGlow, we offer a free, detailed hair consultation to assess the exact cause of your hair thinning or shedding. Our expert team examines your scalp health, lifestyle, hormone profile, and hair growth cycle phase to determine which regenerative hair treatment protocol is most appropriate, be it PRP, PRF, exosomes, polynucleotides, dutasteride mesotherapy, or LLLT

The Hair Loss Cycle

Hair grows in four phases: anagen (growth), catagen (transition), telogen (rest), and exogen (shedding). Normally, 85–90% of hair is in the anagen phase, which lasts 2–7 years. In conditions like androgenetic alopecia, this growth phase shortens while the resting phase lengthens, leading to thinner, weaker hair and slower regrowth due to follicle miniaturisation.

At Cheshire MediGlow, our regenerative treatments help restore the natural cycle by extending the growth phase, reactivating follicles, and improving hair density and strength.

Hair Loss & The Menopause

Up to 40% of women notice thinning around menopause, with reduced oestrogen leading to a shortened anagen (growth) phase and increased sensitivity to androgens like DHT. This results in slower regrowth, weaker strands, and visible scalp across the top of the head. Targeted regenerative therapies can help reverse these changes by improving blood supply, calming inflammation, and restoring follicle function.

Exosomes are packed with repair signals that directly target the hair bulb. When microneedled into the scalp, they stimulate blood circulation, reduce follicle shrinkage, and encourage new hair growth. This makes them ideal for androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness), hormonal thinning, and general hair rejuvenation—without the side effects of hormone-based treatments

Male Pattern Baldness

Male pattern hair loss affects up to 80% of men by age 70, often starting in the late 20s or early 30s with a receding hairline or thinning crown. It’s caused by genetic sensitivity to DHT, which gradually shrinks hair follicles and weakens strands.

Early treatment with proven therapies like PRP, exosomes, mesotherapy, and LLLT can slow or stop this process and restore hair growth. At Cheshire MediGlow, we create personalised, evidence-based plans to help men preserve their hair and confidence.
