What are Skin Boosters?

Skin boosters are ideal if your skin looks dull, dehydrated or crepey, or if you want a fresher, healthier-looking complexion with subtle, natural results. Unlike dermal fillers, skin boosters don’t add noticeable volume; instead, they work on improving skin quality from the inside out by placing small amounts of product within the skin. The key ingredient in many boosters is hyaluronic acid (HA), which attracts and holds water to provide deep, long-lasting hydration, and some formulations also include supportive ingredients such as amino acids, vitamins and minerals to help strengthen the skin and support natural collagen and elastin maintenance over time. The result is typically smoother texture, refined pores and a healthy, radiant glow, often with minimal downtime.

We offer a curated range of evidence-based skin boosters here at our clinic in Altrincham, including Profhilo®, Profhilo® Structura, Sunekos®, Teosyal® Redensity 1, Restylane® Vital (Skinboosters), Stylage® Hydro, Stylage® Hydromax, and Jalupro®. Your clinician will recommend the most appropriate option based on your skin type, the area being treated, and your goals - whether you’re prioritising hydration, fine lines, crepiness, or overall skin quality improvement.

Who Is Suitable for Skin Booster Treatments?

Skin boosters are an excellent option for anyone looking to improve skin hydration, texture and radiance without adding volume. They are suitable for men and women of all skin types, typically from the late 20s onwards, particularly if you are noticing early signs of ageing, dullness, or a loss of elasticity.

They are especially helpful for people with dry or tired-looking skin, fine lines, or uneven texture, whether due to age, sun exposure, or environmental stress. Skin boosters are also a great choice if you want natural-looking results with minimal downtime. Popular treatment areas include the face, neck, décolletage and hands, making them a versatile option for full-face rejuvenation or targeted maintenance.

Benefits of skin boosters:

  • Deep, long-lasting hydration from within

  • Instant glow with gradual collagen stimulation

  • Improved skin elasticity, firmness and tone

  • Scientifically backed ingredients including HA & amino acids

  • Minimal downtime – makeup can be applied after 24 hours

Exosomes are packed with repair signals that directly target the hair bulb. When microneedled into the scalp, they stimulate blood circulation, reduce follicle shrinkage, and encourage new hair growth. This makes them ideal for androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness), hormonal thinning, and general hair rejuvenation—without the side effects of hormone-based treatments

Profhilo® in Altrincham (Bio-Remodelling Skin Booster for Hydration + Firmness)

Profhilo® is one of the most well-known, premium skin booster treatments for improving overall skin quality. It contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring molecule in the skin that attracts and holds water) and is designed to spread evenly through the tissue to deliver deep hydration and support firmer, more elastic-looking skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that are used to create shape or volume, Profhilo is typically placed using five key points per side of the face (BAP technique), allowing it to diffuse smoothly and enhance skin texture and radiance without altering your natural facial structure.

Over the following weeks, many patients notice a healthier glow, smoother texture, and improved skin “bounce”. If you’re looking for Profhilo in Altrincham, Cheshire or Manchester, Cheshire MediGlow provides expert, medical-led treatment plans with subtle, natural-looking results.

Best for: dehydration, dullness, fine lines, early loss of firmness (face/neck/décolletage/hands depending on assessment).
Typical course: often 2 treatments, usually around 4 weeks apart, then maintenance as needed.

Profhilo® Structura (deeper support for facial ageing changes)

Profhilo® Structura is an advanced, next-generation bio-remodelling skin booster available at Cheshire MediGlow in Altrincham (Cheshire & South Manchester). It’s designed for patients who are noticing deeper, age-related changes - where the face can look a little less supported over time - and want more than hydration alone. While classic Profhilo® is best known for improving hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality, Profhilo Structura is selected when the goal is a more structural, deeper-tissue support approach within a natural rejuvenation plan.

The aim is still subtle and refined (not a “filler look”), but it can help improve the appearance of firmness and definition in areas such as the mid-face/cheeks, jawline and temples, giving a naturally refreshed and gently lifted result with typically minimal downtime.

This treatment is suitable for early to moderate facial ageing changes, and we’ll advise whether Structura, classic Profhilo, or a combination is most appropriate for your anatomy and goals. If you’d like a clearer comparison, see our blog on the difference between Profhilo and Profhilo Structura. It can be particularly suitable for patients who have experienced rapid weight loss (including on GLP-1 medications) and notice “facial hollowing,” as this is often due to loss of facial fat pads and reduced mid-face support. Profhilo Structura is designed to support restoration of deeper facial tissue structure, helping to improve support and contour in a subtle, natural-looking way.

Best for: early to moderate facial ageing changes where deeper support is needed and rapid weight loss on the face.
Typical course: often 2 treatments, usually around 4 weeks apart, then maintenance as needed.

Sunekos® (fine lines + delicate areas, full-face versatility)

Sunekos® is a popular option here at our clinic in Altrincham, when the goal is to improve skin quality rather than add filler-style volume. It combines hyaluronic acid with a patented amino acid formula (HY6AA) to support the skin’s natural building blocks involved in firmness and elasticity. Clinically, it’s often chosen for patients with fine lines, crepey texture and early signs of laxity, because it helps the skin look more hydrated, smoother and more resilient over time. Another advantage is its versatility - it can be used across many areas of the face, including more delicate zones (when appropriately selected and assessed), which makes it useful as part of a full-face skin quality plan.

Overall, Sunekos is well suited to patients who want a subtle, progressive improvement in texture, glow and skin “bounce”, with results that build gradually following a short course. A key advantage is that Sunekos can be used across many areas of the face, and can be tailored to under-eyes, cheeks, around the mouth, and other zones depending on the formulation and technique used.

Best for: fine lines, crepey texture, delicate areas, overall skin quality improvement.

Teosyal® Redensity 1 (radiance + hydration + smoothness)

Redensity 1 is designed for patients who want brighter, smoother-looking skin with improved hydration, without adding volume. It combines hyaluronic acid with skin-supporting ingredients, that includes amino acids (building blocks used in normal skin structure), antioxidants (to help protect against day-to-day oxidative stress), minerals such as zinc and copper (involved in normal skin repair processes), and vitamin B6 (supports cellular metabolism).

It also contains lidocaine to make treatment more comfortable. Often described as a “skin revitalising” blend, it is a popular choice to improve dullness, early fine lines and uneven texture.

Best for: glow, dehydration, dull/tired looking under-eyes, early fine lines, rough texture (face/neck/décolletage/hands depending on assessment).

Restylane® Vital (Skinboosters: deep hydration in the skin)

Restylane® Skinboosters Vital (and Vital Light for more delicate areas) are injectable treatments designed to improve skin hydration, smoothness and overall skin quality by placing tiny droplets of stabilised hyaluronic acid within the skin. Vital contains 20 mg/mL HA, while Vital Light contains 12 mg/mL HA, allowing us to tailor the treatment to your skin thickness and treatment area. Many patients choose Restylane Vital when their skin feels dry, tight or crepey, or when they want a subtle improvement in fine lines, texture and radiance without adding volume. It can be used on areas such as the face, neck, décolletage and hands, and is especially helpful where the skin needs “deep hydration from within.” A commonly recommended plan is a short course of two or three sessions spaced around 2–4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance depending on your skin and goals.

Best for: hydration and texture on face, neck, décolletage, and hands.

Stylage® Hydro & Stylage® Hydromax (hydration-focused boosters)

If your main issue is dryness, tightness or loss of glow, Stylage Hydro and Hydromax are hydration-led options:

  • Stylage Hydro is often chosen for lighter hydration support and skin comfort.

  • Stylage Hydromax is selected when you want a more sustained improvement in hydration and skin quality.

Stylage Hydromax is our more intensive option for patients who want a stronger improvement in skin quality and elasticity. It combines cross-linked + free hyaluronic acid and is enriched with sorbitol to help support longer-lasting hydration and skin resilience. Hydromax is particularly well suited if you have fine vertical lines running down the cheeks, or “accordion lines” (the fine crepey lines that show on the cheeks when you smile), because it is designed to be placed deeper within the dermis to help smooth fine wrinkles and improve overall skin texture. We commonly use these treatments across the face, neck and décolletage (and can also treat hands where appropriate).

Best for: dry, dull, dehydrated skin (inc hands & neck); improving skin comfort and glow.

Jalupro® (skin quality + crepiness support)

Jalupro combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids (skin-supporting nutrients) and is commonly used to improve texture, crepiness and fine lines, particularly in areas like the face, neck, décolletage and hands. It’s a good option when skin needs a more “revitalising” approach rather than a purely hydrating one.

Best for: crepey texture, fine lines, skin that looks tired or depleted.

Lip boosters (hydration-focused lip treatment)

Lip boosters are micro-injections of hyaluronic acid placed within the lips to improve deep hydration, softness and surface smoothness - without aiming to create obvious “filler volume” or change your natural lip shape. They’re an excellent option if you experience chronically dry or chapped lips, lipstick that clings to fine lines, a rough/crepey lip texture, or lips that feel tight and dehydrated despite using balms. Many patients also notice improved lip comfort, a healthier-looking sheen, and a subtle refinement of fine vertical lip lines over time.

If you’ve had previous lip filler, you can usually still have a lip booster once the filler has fully settled. As a general guide, we recommend leaving at least 2 weeks (often 2–4 weeks) between a lip filler appointment and a lip booster appointment in the same area, to allow swelling to resolve and the product to integrate properly; if there is ongoing tenderness, bruising, or you’ve recently had dissolving/correction, we may advise waiting longer after assessment.

Best for: Dehydrated, chapped lips or lips with fine lines.
