Why Our PRP System Is Superior

At Cheshire MediGlow, we use a Swiss-engineered PRP platform that is FDA-approved, CE-marked, and trusted in both NHS and private hospitals for its precision, sterility, and efficacy.

  • High platelet yield: Our system delivers 3–8 billion platelets per treatment, one of the highest concentrations available for true regenerative impact.

  • Patented hourglass tube design: The unique shape of our PRP tubes ensures gentle, laminar separation of plasma, preserving platelet viability without damaging force.

  • No gel/acrylate separators: We use only pure, additive-free tubes, no chemicals, gels or artificial barriers, resulting in cleaner plasma with higher bioavailability.

  • Rapid processing time: The entire spin cycle is completed in just 3 minutes, reducing platelet degradation and ensuring optimal potency.

  • Trusted by hospitals: This system is used for orthopaedic procedures by many Consultant Orthopaedic surgeons, confirming its safety and performance in clinical medicine.

  • Sterile, closed-loop system: Every treatment is delivered using single-use, medical-grade consumables for maximum patient safety.

This high-quality system ensures every PRP and PRF treatment at Cheshire MediGlow delivers superior regenerative power, ideal for both standalone use and as part of combination protocols.

What is PRP & PRF?

  • PRP is a concentrated serum made from your own blood, rich in platelets and growth factors such as VEGF, PDGF, and IGF-1. These powerful signals stimulate follicle repair, increase scalp blood flow, and reduce inflammation.

  • PRF is a more advanced formulation created with a slower spin and no anticoagulants. This results in a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors over 7–10 days, providing longer-lasting regenerative effects and an even higher concentration of stem cells and leukocytes.

  • PRP and PRF work by extending the anagen phase (the active phase) in the hair growth cycle, helping dormant follicles return to active growth.

The Process

At Cheshire MediGlow, our PRP preparation follows a precise medical-standard protocol:

1. Blood Draw – We collect 20–30 ml of your blood using a sterile, medical-grade collection tube. For PRP, an anticoagulant-lined tube is used to maintain platelet integrity. For PRF, no anticoagulant is used, allowing the formation of a natural fibrin matrix that enables a slower release of growth factors.

2. Centrifugation – The sample is spun in a swing-out centrifuge at low speed for just 3 minutes, separating red blood cells, plasma, and a platelet-rich buffy coat.

3. Patented Tube Design – Our hourglass-shaped tube, featuring two strategic ports, enables precise separation of plasma layers, from high volume to highly concentrated PRP, with clean extraction, all without gels or additives.

4. Customised Yield – We can collect either a larger volume of moderately concentrated PRP or a smaller volume of ultra-concentrated PRP/PRF depending on your treatment goals.

5. Injection – The final platelet-rich plasma (or fibrin matrix) is injected into the scalp in thinning areas using microneedling or direct injection, delivering growth factors directly where needed.

This fast, closed-loop process preserves 80–90% of platelets, ensuring a pure, autologous, drug-free treatment with maximum therapeutic potential.

Exosomes are packed with repair signals that directly target the hair bulb. When microneedled into the scalp, they stimulate blood circulation, reduce follicle shrinkage, and encourage new hair growth. This makes them ideal for androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness), hormonal thinning, and general hair rejuvenation—without the side effects of hormone-based treatments

Why PRP/PRF Is Ideal for Menopausal Hair Loss

Oestrogen decline during peri- and post-menopause leads to shorter growth cycles and increased DHT sensitivity, resulting in thinning, especially around the crown and parting. PRP and PRF can help by:

  • Extending the anagen phase and shortening the resting (telogen) phase

  • Improving microcirculation to support weakened follicles

  • Delivering anti-inflammatory and antioxidant signals to soothe sensitive, reactive scalps

  • Clinical audits show over 80% of menopausal women notice reduced shedding and visible thickening within three to four months while undergoing regular monthly PRP treatments.

PRP & PRF Before and After Hair Transplants

PRP and PRF are now considered gold-standard support treatments for hair transplantation.

  • Before transplant: PRP primes the scalp by improving vascularity and enhancing follicle health, creating an ideal environment for graft uptake.

  • After transplant: PRP/PRF treatments accelerate healing, reduce post-op inflammation, and improve graft survival, resulting in better density and retention.

Many leading surgeons recommend PRP/PRF to support both FUT and FUE hair transplant procedures and improve long-term outcomes.

How should I prepare for PRP or PRF hair treatment?

To prepare for your PRP or PRF hair treatment, stay well hydrated, eat a light meal beforehand, and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and anti-inflammatory medications for at least 24–48 hours (unless prescribed). Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables to support healing, and wash your hair beforehand so your scalp is clean and product-free. At Cheshire MediGlow, we’ll guide you through every step to ensure the best possible results.

After PRP or PRF treatment, avoid washing your hair, using products, or doing strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours. Skip topical treatments like minoxidil unless advised, and avoid alcohol, smoking, and scratching the scalp. Use gentle shampoos when you resume washing, stay hydrated, and eat well to support healing. Cheshire MediGlow will provide full aftercare guidance and ongoing support.
