What is advanced microneedling?

Microneedling is a clinical skin rejuvenation treatment that creates controlled microchannels in the skin. These microchannels stimulate the body’s natural repair process, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin, which help skin look smoother, firmer and healthier.

Advanced microneedling can also enhance the delivery of targeted active ingredients into the skin. This means treatment can be personalised for concerns such as pigmentation, acne scarring, dull skin, stretch marks, fine lines, enlarged pores, sensitive skin and early skin ageing.

At Cheshire MediGlow, microneedling is positioned as a regenerative skin treatment, not a standard facial.

Exosomes are packed with repair signals that directly target the hair bulb. When microneedled into the scalp, they stimulate blood circulation, reduce follicle shrinkage, and encourage new hair growth. This makes them ideal for androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness), hormonal thinning, and general hair rejuvenation—without the side effects of hormone-based treatments

What happens during treatment?

Your microneedling appointment begins with a skin consultation and assessment. We will discuss your main concerns, skin history, current skincare routine and treatment goals.

The skin is then cleansed and prepared. Numbing cream may be applied depending on the treatment area and depth required. The chosen microneedling solution is selected based on your concern, and the treatment is performed using a controlled microneedling device.

After treatment, calming products are applied and you will be given personalised aftercare advice to support healing and optimise your results.

Results and downtime

After microneedling, it is normal for the skin to look red, warm or slightly sensitive for 24 to 48 hours. Some clients may also experience mild dryness, tightness or flaking as the skin renews.

Many clients notice an early glow within days, but the deeper collagen-stimulating benefits develop gradually over several weeks. Concerns such as acne scarring, pigmentation, stretch marks and skin texture usually require a course of treatments for best results.

Microneedling results are progressive, meaning the skin continues to improve as collagen and elastin production increases.

How many microneedling sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your skin concern.

For glow or event preparation, one session may be enough, ideally performed around 2 to 4 weeks before your event.

For pigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks or collagen remodelling, a course is usually recommended. Most clients benefit from 3 to 6 sessions, spaced around 4 weeks apart.

Maintenance treatments can then be performed every few months depending on your skin goals.

Microneedling vs standard facials

Microneedling is different from a standard facial. While facials can improve surface hydration and relaxation, microneedling works deeper by stimulating the skin’s natural repair response.

Advanced microneedling at Cheshire MediGlow is a clinical skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve skin quality from within. It can be enhanced with targeted professional solutions to treat concerns such as pigmentation, acne scarring, ageing, dullness and sensitivity.

This makes it ideal for clients who want more than a temporary glow and are looking for longer-term skin improvement.

Microneedling can be combined with chemical peels or regenerative treatments depending on your skin concern, but please book a consultation first to discuss.

Our Bespoke Microneedling Treatments

Depigmentation Microneedling

Best for pigmentation, melasma, sun damage and uneven skin tone.

Our Depigmentation Microneedling is one of our most popular treatments at Cheshire MediGlow. It is designed for clients concerned about pigmentation, uneven skin tone, melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation and dullness. This treatment uses a professional depigmentation solution selected to target uneven tone and support a brighter, clearer complexion.

For more advanced pigmentation, depigmentation microneedling may also be combined with a carefully selected chemical peel as part of a structured pigmentation plan.

Acne Scar Microneedling

Best for acne scarring, uneven texture and collagen remodelling.

Acne scarring often needs more than superficial skin treatments. Our Acne Scar Microneedling is designed to stimulate collagen production and support gradual skin remodelling.

For acne scarring, we may use PLLACELL, a PLLA-based regenerative solution that supports collagen stimulation and skin regeneration.

This treatment is suitable for clients with post-acne marks, textural irregularity, shallow acne scarring and uneven skin quality. A course of treatments is usually recommended for best results.

Stretch Mark Microneedling

Best for stretch marks on the abdomen and body

Microneedling can also be used on the body to improve the appearance of stretch marks, particularly on areas such as the tummy, abdomen, hips or thighs.

For stretch mark microneedling, we use a professional stretch mark solution designed to support skin repair and improve visible marks over time. The treatment works by stimulating collagen and helping the skin gradually become smoother, firmer and more even in texture.

This is usually recommended as a course of treatments, as stretch marks need time and repeated stimulation to improve.

Mesotox Microneedling

Best for fine lines, pores, oily skin and smoother texture

Mesotox Microneedling is a refined skin-smoothing treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines, enlarged pores, oily skin and uneven texture.

This treatment uses Botox-like peptides to help create a smoother, more polished skin appearance without changing facial expression. It is ideal for clients who want a fresher, more refined look without traditional injectable anti-wrinkle treatment.

Mesotox is especially popular for clients who want skin that looks smoother, tighter and more camera-ready.

NCTF 135 Glow Microneedling

Best for glow, hydration, dull skin and event preparation

NCTF 135, often known as the “Chanel skin booster”, is ideal for clients wanting a radiant, hydrated and refreshed complexion. It is a beautiful option for event preparation, including weddings, holidays, birthdays and special occasions. When microneedled into the skin, NCTF 135 can help improve hydration, brightness and overall skin quality, creating a fresher and more luminous appearance. For enhanced results, this treatment can be combined with Beautifeye, where NCTF 135 is also injected into the under-eye area to improve the appearance of tired, dull or crepey under-eyes.

This is one of our favourite treatments for clients who want a healthy glow before an important event.

Ultimate Regenerative Microneedling

Best for premium glow, hydration and skin regeneration

Our Ultimate Regenerative Microneedling treatment is designed for clients wanting a more advanced skin-quality treatment. This option uses carefully selected regenerative solutions to support hydration, radiance, skin repair and overall rejuvenation. It is ideal for clients who want their skin to look fresher, healthier and more revitalised.

This is a premium option for those looking for visible improvement in skin quality, glow, texture and early signs of ageing.

Exosome Microneedling

Best for advanced regeneration, sensitive skin and rosacea-prone skin

Exosome Microneedling is one of our most advanced regenerative microneedling treatments. Exosomes contain powerful signalling molecules that help support skin repair, barrier health and regeneration. This treatment is particularly well suited to clients with sensitive, reactive or rosacea-prone skin, as it can help support the skin barrier while encouraging repair and rejuvenation.

Exosome microneedling is also a strong option for clients wanting a premium regenerative treatment for skin ageing, dullness, inflammation, texture and overall skin recovery.
